When it comes to taking supplements, there are basically two philosophies. The first is the most commonly practiced in the U.S. A vitamin company decides that they feel the human body needs to have a certain amount of a particular vitamin or mineral, e.g.: 1000mg of vitamin C, or 1000mg of Calcium. They then take that amount of that particular nutrient, which is usually in a synthetic form, and they put it into a pill or capsule along with several other fillers and ingredients. These types of products are referred to as “fractionated” because they are separated from the whole food form and they only contain a fraction of the original nutrient. Fractionated vitamins are usually missing some, if not all of the vital portions of the original nutrient that is needed to make it compatible to the human body. One of the main problems with this type of philosophy is that a person (chemist or biologist) decided that he or she knows what the body needs in the way of nutrition, and that most of what God originally put into the foods we eat was actually not necessary. Most of the vitamin products that can be purchased over the counter, or at your local health food store are fractionated.
The second philosophy believes that God Created natural fruits and vegetables to be eaten in their entirety, as “whole foods.” The way that these foods were created, provided us with all of the vital nutrients that we need each and every day to keep us strong, healthy, and disease free. However, because of the processing that our foods go through, combined with the chemicals and pesticides that are used to grow these foods, they no longer contain many of the vital nutrients that they were originally designed to have. Also, take into consideration that even if the food we eat did had all of the vital nutrients, statistics show that we don’t eat enough of them in their fresh and “whole” state to do us any good. Are you eating 5-7 servings of fresh, raw fruits and vegetables every day?
In the past, we have not had the proper science, data, or facts about
supplemental nutrition. However, we now have available to us long-term studies
that have shown that taking antioxidant vitamins, even vitamins as simple as A,
C, E, and Beta-carotene, that are not in their whole form, not only cannot
do your body much good, but may actually be
harmful.
You see,
ALL
known and unknown vitamins, minerals, antioxidants, enzymes, and nutrients, are
God given, and are only found in raw, fresh fruits and vegetables. God created
foods to be eaten in their entirety, not just a select few of their nutrients.
There are so many things that go on inside each cell of the human body, there is
no possible way that anyone could know which nutrients we need, or worse yet,
which ones that we don’t need.
The fact is, we need to eat more whole fruits and vegetables in their
“whole” state, and when we don’t, we MUST
supplement with Whole
Food Supplements.
